6 Best Alternatives to the Ben Hogan Golf FW-817 Ladies (2026)

How these options compare to Hogan

Cobra Golf Fly-XL Women's Petite Set

The Cobra Fly-XL Petite Set targets petite women with a focus on graphite ease and straighter drives. It shares the petite size requirement of the Hogan FW-817 but distinguishes itself with specialized weighting for effortless iron play. While the Hogan offers a 460cc forged titanium driver with a fixed 12° loft, the Cobra prioritizes lightweight construction to help players achieve consistent distance. You should choose the Cobra if you value a tailored graphite feel over the specific oversized cavity design of the Hogan irons. Both sets cater to players under 5'3", but the Cobra approach emphasizes launch assistance through its specific weighting rather than the Hogan high MOI driver structure.

Callaway Strata 11-Piece Women's Set

The Callaway Strata 11-Piece Set differs significantly by offering regular size clubs rather than petite lengths. It is available in left-handed orientation, whereas the Hogan FW-817 is strictly for right-handed players. This set uses graphite shafts to balance distance and control, similar to the Hogan, but the regular size makes it unsuitable for golfers under 5'3". If you are a left-handed woman needing standard length clubs, this is a practical alternative. The Hogan remains the better choice for right-handed petite players seeking forgiveness. The Strata provides a complete package for those who do not require shortened shafts, offering a different fit profile entirely compared to the specialized petite design of the Hogan set.

Wilson Profile SGI Petite Women's Set

The Wilson Profile SGI Petite Women's Set matches the Hogan FW-817 in targeting petite women with accessible specs for ease of launch. It shares the petite size designation, making it suitable for shorter players. However, the Wilson set includes a cart bag, providing a more complete package for course play. The Hogan focuses on a titanium driver and oversized irons for forgiveness. The Wilson option prioritizes a ready-to-use configuration with included accessories. If you need a full set with a cart bag rather than just head covers, the Wilson is a practical alternative. Both sets cater to petite dimensions, but the Wilson adds value through its included cart bag for players who prefer not to purchase separate bags.

Adams Golf New Idea 11-Piece Women's Set

The Adams Golf New Idea 11-Piece Set offers a complete graphite package with a titanium driver, similar to the Hogan FW-817. It targets women golfers seeking distance and forgiveness through lightweight irons and a titanium driver head. Unlike the Hogan, which specifies a 12° fixed loft driver, the Adams set provides a ready-to-play foundation without detailed loft specifications in its summary. Both sets use graphite shafts to enhance swing speed and ease of use. The Adams option is ideal for players wanting a comprehensive set with a titanium driver. If you prefer a standard 11-piece configuration over the specific hybrid and iron breakdown of the Hogan, this set offers a comparable graphite-focused experience for women seeking forgiveness and distance.

XDriveMax Women's 11-Piece Set

The XDriveMax Women's 11-Piece Set provides a lightweight complete package with a 3 wood, catering to women golfers who prioritize ease of launch. It shares the graphite shaft preference of the Hogan FW-817, ensuring lighter swing weights for improved control. The XDriveMax includes a stand bag, making it ready for immediate use on the course, whereas the Hogan focuses on head covers for its clubs. This set is suitable for players who want a full 11-piece configuration with a stand bag. If you value the convenience of an included stand bag over the specific oversized iron design of the Hogan, the XDriveMax offers a comparable graphite-based forgiveness system tailored for women golfers seeking straightforward performance.

PGF Lady Concord Petite Left-Hand Set

The PGF Lady Concord Petite Left-Hand Set is designed for left-handed petite women, offering a 15-degree driver loft. This contrasts with the Hogan FW-817, which is right-handed with a 12-degree fixed loft. The PGF set provides a 15-piece option with a lightweight titanium driver for forgiveness and easy launch. It matches the Hogan in targeting petite dimensions but differs in hand orientation and driver loft angle. If you are a left-handed golfer under 5'3" seeking forgiveness, the PGF set is a viable alternative. The Hogan remains the choice for right-handed players. The PGF offers more clubs in its set and a higher loft driver, catering to players who need left-handed options with a focus on launch assistance.
