How to choose the right MGI golf cart
-
Check your steering preference
You must decide between remote control and manual steering. The MGI Zip Navigator Electric Golf Cart includes remote control, which allows you to follow the cart hands-free. This is useful for long rounds or if you prefer not to push. If you prefer direct control, the MGI Zip X5 Electric Golf Cart uses manual steering. This gives you full physical control over the cart’s direction. Choose remote for convenience and manual for direct engagement with your game.
-
Compare folded dimensions
Folded size determines how the cart fits in your vehicle trunk. Most models, like the MGI Zip X1 Electric Golf Cart, fold to approximately 23.2 inches wide and 31.5 inches long. This standard size fits most standard car trunks. However, the MGI Zip Navigator All Terrain Electric Golf Cart folds to 24 inches long and 20 inches wide. This different footprint may suit specific trunk shapes better. Measure your trunk space before buying to ensure a proper fit for transport.
-
Evaluate weight for portability
Weight affects how easily you can lift the cart into your car. The MGI Zip X1 Electric Golf Cart is the lightest at 26.7 pounds. This makes it easy to handle for smaller individuals. The MGI Zip Navigator All Terrain weighs 37.5 pounds, which is heavier but may offer more stability. Heavier carts can feel more solid on the course. Lighter carts are easier to lift. Consider your physical strength and how often you load and unload the cart.
-
Assess terrain capabilities
Some carts are built for varied ground conditions. The MGI Zip Navigator All Terrain Electric Golf Cart is designed for all-terrain use. It handles rougher paths and uneven grass better than standard models. If you play on well-maintained courses only, a standard model like the MGI Zip X3 Electric Golf Cart is sufficient. The all-terrain feature adds versatility but may come with a higher weight. Choose based on the typical conditions of the courses you play.
-
Consider battery range needs
Battery range determines how many holes you can play on a single charge. Several models, including the MGI Zip Navigator Electric Golf Cart, support 36-hole range. This is ideal for full rounds or practice sessions. If you only play nine holes, any model will suffice. However, for longer days, ensure the model meets your range requirements. Check the specifications for battery life details. This ensures you do not run out of power mid-round.
