Who it fits
Good fit for
This rangefinder suits players who value immediate visual and tactile confirmation of target lock. The Visual JOLT feature helps those who want to know exactly when the laser hits the pin. The magnetic mount is ideal for golfers who use carts and want quick access to distance data. The compact dimensions and one-pound weight make it easy to carry in a bag. If you prefer a straightforward, high-clarity tool without complex app dependencies, this spec-focused device fits your needs.
Who should skip it
Buyers seeking a device with a built-in display for hole maps or flyovers should look elsewhere. This model relies on the separate Bushnell Golf App for such digital features. If you want a rangefinder that provides 3D layouts directly through an integrated screen, this unit lacks that capability. The focus here is on optical clarity and magnetic mounting rather than comprehensive digital integration. Those who prefer all-in-one digital solutions might find this spec set too basic for their preferences.
Verdict: The Bushnell V5 Patriot Pack delivers precise pin-seeking performance with clear visual and tactile feedback. Its compact size and magnetic mount make it a practical choice for cart users.

Before You Buy The V5
You should verify your cart’s bar diameter before purchasing. The BITE magnetic mount requires a specific metal surface to adhere properly. If your push cart uses plastic bars or non-magnetic materials, you will need an alternative mounting solution. This rangefinder does not include a standalone carrying case in the pack, so you must ensure your golf bag has a dedicated slot for it. The device pairs with the Bushnell Golf App for 3D flyovers. You need a smartphone with Bluetooth connectivity to access these digital features. Regular cleaning of the lens is essential for maintaining the clarity mentioned in the specs. Dust and moisture can obscure the Visual JOLT confirmation. Compare this model against other pin-seekers if you prefer a non-magnetic mount. The V5 is ideal for players who prioritize precise locking confirmation over manual reading. It fits well into a setup that values speed and accuracy on the course.
