Who it fits
Good fit for
You should consider this rangefinder if you want tour-trusted accuracy with slope features. The 6x magnification helps you see pins clearly from a distance. The slope switch lets you toggle compensation for casual or tournament use. The IPX6 rating ensures reliability in wet conditions. If you value a complete package with a magnetic mount and case, this bundle offers practical accessories alongside the core device specs.
Who should skip it
You might want to look elsewhere if you prefer a lighter device, as this unit weighs 12 ounces. The 6x magnification may feel too strong if you prefer a wider field of view. The IPX6 rating is robust but not the highest available if you need extreme submersion protection. If you do not need slope compensation or the included accessories, the base unit might suffice. You may also skip this if you want a different color than black.
Verdict: The Tour V6 Shift Patriot Pack delivers precise, slope-adjustable distances with weather-resistant durability. It suits golfers who value a complete, accessory-rich package for both casual and tournament play.
Key specs explained
Max Range: 1300 yards
This rating indicates the device can detect targets up to 1300 yards away. You benefit from accurate readings on long holes or when measuring to hazards far down the fairway. Compare this with models offering shorter ranges, as higher limits ensure you have data for every shot distance on a challenging course layout.
Waterproof: IPX6
An IPX6 rating means the rangefinder can withstand powerful water jets from any direction. You can use it confidently in heavy rain or wet morning conditions without fearing internal damage. When shopping for golf accessories, check this rating against lower standards like IPX4, which only handles splashes, to ensure durability in all weather.
Magnification: 6x
Six times magnification helps you clearly see the flagstick and distinguish it from background clutter like trees or bunkers. This clarity aids in precise target acquisition, especially for golfers with varying eyesight. Compare this with 5x or 7x options; 6x often provides a balanced field of view and brightness for steady aiming.
Slope Compensation: yes, with on/off switch
This feature calculates distance adjustments based on the uphill or downhill angle of the shot. The on/off switch allows you to disable slope mode for USGA-compliant tournament play. You benefit from accurate yardage in practice rounds while maintaining legality in competition. Look for this toggle when buying equipment for both casual and serious play.
Design and build details
The Bushnell Tour V6 Shift measures 4.75 inches in length, 3.25 inches in height, and 1.7 inches in width. It weighs 12 ounces. These dimensions create a compact profile that fits comfortably in your hand or a golf bag pocket. The listing notes the color is black. This finish helps the device blend with standard golf gear without drawing unnecessary attention on the course. You can carry it easily during a full round without it feeling bulky.
According to the listing, the device holds an IPX6 waterproof rating. This means it resists powerful water jets, making it suitable for use in rain or wet morning conditions. Bushnell describes this as the most weather-resistant model in its Tour series. You can trust it to function reliably even when the course is damp. The 6x magnification lens is integrated into this sturdy frame, ensuring clear target acquisition without adding significant size.
The layout includes an LCD screen and Visual JOLT technology. The JOLT feature provides both a visual red ring flash and a haptic vibration when you lock onto the pin. This dual feedback system helps confirm your aim quickly. The controls are designed for easy switching between slope modes. You can toggle the slope compensation on or off to meet USGA rules for tournament play. The build supports precise ranging within one yard, allowing you to focus on your shot rather than adjusting the device.
Setup and everyday use guide
You receive the Bushnell Tour V6 Shift Patriot Pack as a complete bundle. The package includes the rangefinder, a ball marker, a carry case, a Signature Series Golf Towel, and a Signature Series Gift Bundle. This means you have everything needed for immediate use on the course without searching for accessories. The device is ready to operate right out of the box. It connects to the Bushnell Golf App to unlock useful information. This app provides hole layouts with distance data, 3D flyovers with distance, and wireless course updates. You can use this digital integration to plan your shots more effectively before you even step onto the tee. The rangefinder itself is built for clarity and precision. It features an LCD screen and 6x magnification, which helps you lock in the pin even from a distance. The IPX6 waterproof rating ensures it remains functional in various weather conditions, making it suitable for use at the driving range or during actual rounds. When you are on the course, the improved PinSeeker technology assists you. Visual JOLT technology allows you to feel when you lock onto the pin. A red ring flashes while JOLT vibrates to confirm you have locked onto the flag. This feedback gives you the confidence to take your best shot with ranging accuracy within one yard. The slope compensation feature includes an on/off switch. This Slope-Switch Technology lets you easily switch the rangefinder in and out of Slope mode. This makes the device USGA-Conforming and legal to use in tournament play when needed. You can rely on tour-trusted compensated distances that account for the hole’s incline or decline.
What else you need
You already have the rangefinder and its accessories in the box. You still need a compatible golf bag pocket that fits the 1.7-inch width. Check your current bag to ensure the device sits securely without rattling during your walk. The IPX6 rating handles rain, but you should still wipe the lens with the included towel after play to maintain clarity. This unit works best if you value slope compensation. If you play in strict tournament conditions, remember to toggle the slope switch off. It fits well among other precision tools in your setup. Pair it with a reliable GPS watch for complete course management. The 6x magnification helps in low light, so keep the battery charged. Regular cleaning ensures the JOLT sensor remains responsive. This device complements your existing gear rather than replacing it entirely. It is a focused addition for players who want accurate, compensated distances without extra complexity. Verify your local course rules regarding slope use before your next round.
Check before you buy
- Check if your golf bag pocket fits the 1.7-inch width.
