Looking Beyond the COBRA Golf Fly-XL Complete Set? 6 Alternatives Worth a Look

How each alternative compares

Callaway Mavrik 22 Max W Irons

The Callaway Mavrik 22 Max W Irons focus on hybrid and iron help rather than a full bag setup. Unlike the Cobra Fly-XL, which includes a driver, woods, and putter, this option is strictly an iron and hybrid combo. It features graphite shafts and a black finish, weighing 8 pounds. You get specific technology for speed and feel, but you must buy the rest of your bag separately. This choice suits women who already have a driver and woods but need better performance from their mid-to-short irons. It does not replace a complete set, so it is best for players building a custom bag rather than those seeking an all-in-one package.

Stix Women's Graphite Golf Set

The Stix Women's Graphite Golf Set offers an 11-piece configuration that balances distance and forgiveness. While the Cobra Fly-XL provides 13 pieces including a mallet putter and specific hybrids, Stix focuses on a lighter, graphite-based setup. Both use graphite shafts and target right-handed women. The Stix set prioritizes swing speed and a complete bag experience, though it has fewer total clubs than the Cobra. If you prefer a streamlined bag with fewer clubs and do not need the specific hybrid-to-iron gapping of the Cobra, this is a strong alternative. The black color option provides a different aesthetic compared to the Cobra's silver-blue model. It is ideal for players who want a complete set but with a lighter feel.

Callaway Strata Ultimate Women's 16-Piece Set

The Callaway Strata Ultimate Women's 16-Piece Set provides a higher club count than the Cobra Fly-XL's 13 pieces. It includes a titanium driver and targets beginners seeking maximum forgiveness and distance. Both sets use graphite shafts and are designed for right-handed women. The Strata set is larger in physical dimensions, measuring 14 inches wide and 10 inches high, compared to the Cobra's 12 by 14 inches. It weighs 16 pounds, making it heavier than the typical Fly-XL configuration. This option is best for beginners who want the most clubs for the money and do not mind a heavier bag. It lacks the premium mallet putter and specific hybrid design of the Cobra, focusing instead on volume and ease of use for new players.

XDriveMax 14-Piece Women's Set, Graphite

The XDriveMax 14-Piece Women's Set offers a complete setup with a forgiving 460cc driver, one more club than the Cobra Fly-XL. It uses graphite shafts and is designed for right-handed women, similar to the Cobra. The set includes a convenient cart bag for casual rounds. While the Cobra features a specific 5 hybrid for gapping, the XDriveMax provides a full 14-piece configuration that may suit players wanting slightly more variety. The green and graphite color scheme differs from the Cobra's silver-blue. This option is best for women who want a complete, organized setup with a cart bag and do not require the specific titanium driver weighting of the Cobra. It is a solid alternative for casual play.

Cleveland Golf Halo XL Iron Set

The Cleveland Golf Halo XL Iron Set is an iron-only option, unlike the Cobra Fly-XL which is a complete set with woods and a putter. It features graphite shafts and a satin finish, targeting right-handed golfers seeking forgiveness. The Cleveland set uses an XL head and full-face grooves for consistency, whereas the Cobra offers a broader range of club types. This choice is ideal for players who already have a driver and fairway woods but need better performance from their irons. It does not include a driver, woods, or putter, so it is not a direct replacement for the Fly-XL. It is best for golfers looking to upgrade just their iron play while maintaining their existing bag setup.

Callaway Paradym AI Smoke Iron Set

The Callaway Paradym AI Smoke Iron Set is designed for right-handers seeking stiff flex control, differing from the Cobra Fly-XL's ladies flex graphite shafts. It features an AI face design for precision, whereas the Cobra focuses on forgiveness and distance for women. The Callaway set is smaller in physical size, measuring 5 inches wide and 5 inches high, compared to the Cobra's larger dimensions. It targets players who value control over distance and do not need a full set. This option is best for advanced right-handed golfers who want stiff flex irons and already have other clubs. It is not suitable for women seeking the forgiveness and complete bag configuration of the Cobra Fly-XL.
