- Premium mallet putter with a machined face for feel
Who it fits
Good fit for
This set suits petite women golfers who struggle with standard club lengths. The one-inch reduction helps you maintain proper posture and swing mechanics. The ladies flex graphite shafts assist players with moderate swing speeds in launching the ball higher. If you are a beginner or intermediate player seeking forgiveness, the heel-biased weighting and cavity back irons provide stability. It is also ideal for those who want a complete bag without mixing components from different brands.
Who should skip it
You should look at another option if you are a taller player. The petite length will force you to stand too close to the ball, causing posture issues. Advanced players seeking maximum distance may find the ladies flex shaft too soft for their swing speed. If you prefer a blade-style putter over a mallet design, this set will not match your preference. Players who already own high-performance individual clubs may not need a complete beginner-friendly set.
Verdict: The Cobra Fly-XL Women's Petite Set is a practical choice for shorter women golfers seeking a complete, forgiving setup. Its shorter lengths and lightweight shafts address specific fit needs for this demographic.
Key specs explained for this set
Length: -1" Short
Every club in this set is one inch shorter than standard men's or regular women's models. This reduced length helps petite women maintain better posture and swing mechanics. You will find it easier to make consistent contact with the ball. This spec ensures the club fits your height without requiring you to bend over excessively. It promotes a more upright swing plane for improved accuracy.
Shaft Flex: Ladies
The graphite shafts feature a ladies flex rating, which indicates a softer bend during the swing. This flexibility helps players with moderate swing speeds generate more clubhead speed. You will experience greater distance without needing to swing harder. This spec is ideal for women who benefit from extra assistance in launching the ball. It contrasts with stiffer regular or men's flex shafts that require higher swing speeds.
Shaft Material: Graphite
All clubs use graphite shafts rather than steel. Graphite is significantly lighter, which reduces the overall weight of the set. This lightness allows you to swing more comfortably and for longer periods without fatigue. You will notice easier handling, especially in the woods and hybrids. This material choice supports a smoother tempo. It is a standard feature in modern complete sets designed for accessibility and ease of use.
Target Audience: Women (Petite)
This set is engineered specifically for women who are shorter than average. The combination of shorter lengths and lighter materials addresses the needs of petite stature. You will find the clubs fit your physical dimensions naturally. This spec ensures the equipment matches your body type rather than forcing you to adapt to standard sizing. It eliminates the need for custom fitting adjustments. This makes it a practical choice for beginners or intermediate players seeking a ready-to-play solution.
Design and build of the set
According to the listing, the Fly-XL Women's Petite Set uses graphite shafts throughout. This material choice keeps the overall weight down. You get ladies flex shafts that bend more easily. This helps generate clubhead speed if your swing tempo is moderate. The driver, fairway woods, hybrids, and irons all share this lightweight graphite construction. It reduces fatigue during a full round of golf.
The set features a black finish. The driver has an oversized shape with heel-biased weighting. This design promotes straighter drives by reducing the tendency to slice. The fairway woods also use heel biasing. This helps you launch the ball higher and more accurately from the tee or fairway. The irons use a traditional cavity back with perimeter weighting. This boosts forgiveness on off-center hits. You will find it easier to get the ball airborne with consistent distance.
The putter is a premium mallet design. It features a machined face for better feel. This gives you more control on both long and short putts. The entire set is built for right-handed petite women. The clubs are one inch shorter than standard lengths. This ensures proper posture and swing mechanics. The graphite material and shortened length work together to make this set accessible. It suits players who need a lighter, shorter club set to improve their game.
Setup and everyday use
This set arrives as a complete package, so you do not need to source individual components. The listing specifies it is a right-hand graphite set for petite women. You will receive a driver, two fairway woods, a hybrid, six irons, a sand wedge, and a mallet putter. All clubs share the same one-inch shorter length and ladies flex shafts. This uniformity simplifies the fitting process. You can start playing immediately without adjusting loft or lie angles for mismatched components.
The graphite shafts reduce overall weight. This makes the clubs easier to swing repeatedly during a round. The driver features an oversized shape and heel-biased weighting. This design promotes longer, straighter drives off the tee. The fairway woods also use heel-biased weighting for accuracy from the turf. The hybrid bridges the gap between the woods and irons, aiding approach shots.
The irons have a traditional cavity back with perimeter weighting. This helps with effortless launch and distance on everyday shots. The putter is a premium mallet design with a machined face. This provides control on both short and long putts. The set is available in black. You can carry these clubs in a standard bag. The consistent specs mean you can trust your distance gapping throughout the round. This setup is ideal for players who want a ready-to-use kit tailored to their size.
Before You Buy This Set
You need to verify your current equipment compatibility before adding this set to your bag. The listing specifies right-hand orientation, so left-handed players cannot use these clubs. Check your grip size preferences, as the standard grips may not suit every hand shape. Graphite shafts require gentle care; avoid dragging the clubhead on hard surfaces to prevent shaft damage. Store the set in a cool, dry place to protect the graphite from extreme temperature shifts that could weaken the material. This set is ideal for petite women seeking a complete, ready-to-play package. It differs from other options by offering a unified one-inch shorter length across all clubs. This consistency helps maintain proper posture. If you already own a premium mallet putter, you might consider replacing the included one for better feel. Otherwise, the included putter provides sufficient control for most greens. Regular cleaning with a damp cloth keeps the clubheads looking sharp. This set fits well alongside other complete sets if you prioritize ease of launch and consistent gapping.
